Demon under the hill
From GMWiki
part of the IC initiation is an oath never to tell anyone or allow anyone to find out, unless they have also sworn the oath, on pain of death.
To help stop Players gossiping ... give any player who knows about the demon the plot-point "demonic secret". With the express condition that when people find out about the demon IN or OUT of character, those 20 character points vanish, stripping power from their character (the in-game reason is that this would be the demons "power for secrecy" deal). Possibly they could get the power back by discrediting the rumour or killing those responsible.
Perhaps the demon has plans for its eventual release, with various steps of preparing its vessel, and weakening its bonds, etc. It may have them out looking for signs, which may point to one of the Gwydions dreamers (possibly a mortal friend of one of someone in Enverona), whom they then have to ravage over the balefire. They will have find the signs, interprete them, kidnap her from her mundane job (on-air community radio anouncer, possibly also watched over by a Gwydion chimera), shake any pursuit (mundane or supernatural) and get her into the freehold intact. Then they have to ravage her.
Starts the groups with good reason to hate each other and sets the tone for the "nasty" side of Kantabal.

The demon bond would be known only to a select few. (originally Joe thought that it would be only he who new.) could have that all leaders of Khantabal have made the deal, execpt for the one that Asriel killed (forgot the name) in the cancon game to gain power (the demon didn like him he allready served another master.
We could also link to the mythic game, the demon was locked away by lover and princess during one of the battles with the demons in the past 10,000 years and forgoten. the locals have always n=known this as a bad place. The demon would recognise the Vampire as the decendants of Lover and Princess, and therfore have pleasure at using it as a intermediatory.
One or two of the older members of the freehold may know of the secret and either assist Asriel or are waiting to use it against him.
Also Asriel may be seen to be coming a weak ruler (drunk and foppish), there could be an attempt against his rulership. the assasination attempt mentioned earlier by mark maybe.
I like the concept of the demon demanding the blood of the one who killed the old leader, maybe some form of ritual. Also introduces the idea of Khantanbal hunting Gwydion ( even as a sport!!!)

I Guess that the main problem is that why has the demon waited so long to demand the blood of the one who offed the old leader. It has been 5 years. There must be something which has caused him to loose power or maybe the time is right to make his presence felt again.
